Not seeing the signs
Max, however, did not respond like Jeff wanted his dog to. The furry animal whined loudly, scratching at the top part of the tree trunk as if he was trying to show his owner something. But the panic inside Jeff’s body prevented him from seeing this clear sign. He just wanted Max back on the leash and used the only tool left to help him achieve that.
