Taking in the scent
The dog sniffed around the trunk and then sniffed the red back intensely. When Max was done, he looked up, whining softly. The officers watched closely, curious to see what Max would do. Max perked his ears and barked twice before darting off toward a denser section of the forest. “Looks like he’s got something,” said one of the officers, following close behind.
