Loud meowing echoed from the pit. And because it was so dark down there, Annie had no idea it meant. Had he managed to grab the kittens? Where they in panic mode and did they jolt of further into the tunnel? A million thought ran through her head. And each of them made Annie more nervous. But then the fireman gave the sign to be hoisted back up.
