Robert could see the confusion and sadness in the mother horse’s eyes as the truck drove away with her foal. He felt a sense of guilt for taking the baby horse away from its mother, but he knew it was for the best. The foal needed medical attention that he couldn’t provide. “We will be back with your young one, I promise you!” he shouted.
