He was panting heavily, his heart still racing. He looked back at the hole, but the glowing eyes were gone. He couldn’t help but wonder what he had just seen, and what had happened to the person whose bones he had just stumbled upon. Did this preditor lure unexacting people in the tree to then attack them? And why could Jonathan in the end escape so easily?
