Holding hands
Benshi sniffed the air around Lily, his nose twitching as he took in her scent. His eyes, soft and curious, studied the little bundle in front of him. Then, very gently, he extended his paw and placed it next to Lily on the blanket. Then Benshi moved closer. His paw, large and furry, gently touched the baby’s tiny hand. In that instant, Lily’s fingers curled around Benshi’s paw.
