“Hello, Tommy,” began the police officer, his voice calm and soothing. “I’ve got some interesting news about your discovery.” He then asked Tommy to fetch the rock and hold it under cold water. The police officer assured him that it would help wash off the sludge and dirt. Tommy followed his instructions as closely as he could, being thorough but careful.
