Unusual reunion
They waited patiently and apprehensively, and then they heard footsteps coming closer. The door opened slowly, and George and Carol’s hearts leaped from relief. Carol couldn’t help but cry out, “Adam!” Tears instantly welled up in her eyes. Adam’s expression shifted from confusion to astonishment. “Who are you?” he asked, his voice laced with bewilderment. The woman and two men stood silently for a moment, nobody sure what to say or do.
