In the hotel room, Carol and George took seats across from Adam. With a quivering voice, Carol asked, “Do you remember me, Adam?” Adam’s brows furrowed in confusion, and he shook his head. “Should I?” he replied, genuinely surprised by her question. Carol’s heart ached. This was certainly not how she had expected this to go. George looked at her in pity and was confused about the whole situation. Something seemed wrong.
