Without wasting another moment, Simon leaped from the boat, his feet splashing into the shallow water. A gasp echoed from the group, their eyes wide with fear as they watched the crocodile. To their surprise, the large reptile remained still, watching Simon with an intensity that suggested understanding. They watched as Simon trudged through the water, wading his way to the fallen trees.
