Bryan turned to Alex, “Do you feel that too?” he asked. Alex, his face reflecting a silent agreement, nodded in response. Fear was an emotion they were familiar with, but this was different. It was a fear that transcended the known, a primal instinct warning them of the unseen. Yet, they couldn’t and wouldn’t retreat now. This was what they had come for.
