Orphanage
Dr. Harrison averted his gaze. He didn’t want to look her in the eyes. That couldn’t be a good sign, Elizabeth thought. “The orphanage took your babies,” he said. “But I don’t know what happened after that.” His voice was full of guilt and sadness. Elizabeth felt her heart break. Her babies were out there somewhere. She didn’t know where or if they were okay. A sense of loss kept coming back to her.
