Reaching the bottom
The old man shrugged as if to say that he had no idea as well. This was new to both of them. Eventually, they reached the bottom. They couldn’t see much. But they knew it was a vast chamber because their voices echoed far. The pastor lit the candle he brought with him, and then they saw it.
