Rusty key
Once the key was in the hole, Elizabeth tried to turn it. But nothing happened. Both the key and the keyhole were rusty and looked very old. So she tried again, but very slowly. By wiggling, she succeeded in getting the key in further. When she tried turning it, she heard a subtle click.
