Explaining
Brian was startled by the question and didn’t respond immediately. The officer stared at him intently and scanned him up and down while waiting for an answer. Eventually, Brian found the words and explained he bought the car from a nearby car park. He was unaware of the car’s contents and thought he got a good deal. But he did find it suspicious the owner practically gave the car to him.
