In the park, Larry relaxed as birds chirped and squirrels ran past. A ball rolled to his leg. A boy asked him to kick it back. He smiled and did. Then the boy’s mother approached. She knew who Larry was—the land donor. Grateful, she offered to help him at home as a part-time caretaker.
