Jumping on it
The policeman remembered the day that his colleague took this case very vividly. “It wasn’t like everyone was gunning to get the case assigned or anything, so the fact that this officer wanted it so badly seemed odd.” We didn’t think much of it back then, so the moment faded from memory. But in hindsight, we should have paid closer attention to his actions because he assigned himself with only one goal in mind.
