Tough situation
Besides the paralysis, Donna recovered fine and could go home quickly. The transition was tough. Their house needed to become wheelchair-proof, and Donna needed much help at this stage, which all fell on her husband. And even though he supported her practically, Donna noticed that her husband distanced himself mentally from the moment they left the hospital. He answered in short sentences, seemed distracted often, and was gone at odd hours. Then, everything abruptly changed.
