Hopes up
Even though Donna got her hopes up and the police promised to catch the intruder, she still felt increasingly unsafe. After everything that happened, she was really worried and jumpy, so she felt better being at home because she was scared of what might happen outside. Donna was nervous and kept close to the phone, hoping it would ring and bring her good news. And the next day, it finally rang.
