Have to act fast
Andrew was freaking out. He had knocked out the thief / potential murderer but had no idea how to act from there. These were all split decisions, actions based on instinct without considering the repercussions. He, of course, was happy to still be alive. Not everyone could say that they escaped a homicide attempt, but what now? Andrew had to act quickly because who might say when Brian would wake up again?
