A week later, Kate packed some treats and toys into her car and set off toward Barbara’s farm. The drive was peaceful, with lush green fields stretching endlessly on either side of the road. As she neared the farm, she spotted a wooden fence and, beyond it, a beautiful home surrounded by rolling meadows.
