Change in demeanor
Becky looked at the man in utter confusion. Fear was still clearly visible on her face, and it seemed the man also noticed this. His muteness up to this point made him extra scary. But now that he finally spoke in a soft voice, it calmed Becky down somehow. She couldn’t explain it, but the man came across as friendly in a way. “Why did you follow me?” Becky asked with a shaky voice.
