A few days after the trial concluded, Mateo’s life took an unexpected turn towards the spotlight. And he had his filmmaking to thank for it. His morning began like any other, with no hint of fame at all. It was a friend’s excited call that eventually brought him the news: “Mate, you’re famous; check the paper!” Intrigued and slightly bewildered, Mateo wandered to his mailbox, where he found the day’s newspaper.
