Piercing the darkness
Ava carefully moved the curtains a little to peek into the garden. She pierced the darkness, and after her eyes adjusted, Ava saw her father knelt down by the fallen tree. His hands were moving, and his body was shaking, but she also noticed that he kept looking around nervously. What was he doing?
