A shared presence
Bruno became a constant presence in both their lives, his joyful energy a reminder of how this incredible journey had begun. The sisters took him on walks through the woods, retracing the path he’d guided Kate down. “He’s more than a dog,” Kate said one day as Bruno bounded ahead, the stuffed panda always close by. “He’s a bridge between us.” June smiled, patting Bruno on the head. “Our guardian angel.”
