Holding Their Breath
Inside the dimly lit parking garage, they found a secluded corner and killed the engine. The three of them sat in silence, their breathing shallow as they waited. A few seconds later, the sound of tires echoed through the garage. The car had followed them in. Derek motioned for everyone to stay quiet, his heart hammering in his chest. The headlights swept past their hiding spot, then disappeared as the car drove to the upper level.
