“Show yourself, now!” Carl tried to come across as confident and menacing as possible, but deep inside, he was screaming out of fear. Whatever caused these breathing sounds quickly responded to Carl’s request. It remained in the shadows but circled the frightened hiker. Suddenly, the sound came from behind him.
