Silence shattered
Carl led the way; his experience and natural leadership pushed them forward when others hesitated. He could feel the uncertainty of his crew behind him, their whispers becoming more nervous as they moved deeper. Then, the silence was suddenly shattered. A bone-chilling cry echoed through the tunnel. The crew froze, their flashlights shaking slightly as they all turned to Carl.
