Source of the whining
One of the older men carried an oil lantern, its soft yellow glow casting eerie shadows on the walls. As he swung the lantern back and forth, the metal hinge made the familiar whining sound Carl and his team had heard before in the tunnel. Now Carl and his team knew its source. The echoes amplified the noise, making it much scarier than it truly was.
