Anchoring the cables
There was only one way to find answers to these burning questions: lift the plane off the ocean floor and bring it to the surface. The Navy diving robot anchored the cables to secure points on the plane, and then the job was transferred to the crane module on board the ship. With a pull of the handle, the cables were retracted, and the plane started lifting upward.
