The old man sat down in his favorite chair, which oversaw both the kitchen table and the front door of his house, and there he waited for his sister to arrive. Mary arrived exactly 10 minutes later, just as she had promised. Tim could hear the car door close, making his heart jump a bit. The unknowing woman slowly walked up to the front door and knocked twice.
