Dad’s roots
The letter described that Dad’s family was rooted in privilege, a life filled with everything they wanted. But also with parents who looked down on others who had less. They called working-class people peasants and took no shame in bashing people who had less than them. Disgusted by his family’s elitism, Dad had chosen to walk away and live simply and purposefully.
