The sound didn’t happen again right away, so they tried to dismiss it as something outside that did not need to bother them. Lucas chuckled, saying it was probably just the wind. But deep down, they both felt something was off. Maria suggested they check, just to be sure. It was dark outside, and strange noises did not sit well with her.
