John glanced back at his family, giving them a reassuring nod before closing the window, praying they’d be safe while he found assistance. The snow crunched beneath John’s feet as he crept across the roof, his mind racing with options. He scanned the neighborhood, hoping to catch sight of anyone who could help. And while he did, the moose continued to paw at the bedroom door, persistent and unstoppable.
