John frowned and placed his book on the coffee table next to him. “What was that?” He said in a low voice. John heard the chamber of their bedroom close upstairs, indicating that Rose did not hear the rumbling outside. But John did and needed to find out what caused it before he could relax. After a few quick footsteps, John reached the kitchen window, which overlooked their backyard.
