Damp streets
The streets here were slightly flooded. Puddles formed in patches, reflecting dim lights from broken streetlamps. She stepped carefully to avoid them, but her shoes still splashed against the water, leaving a trail. Her destination was only a few minutes away now, But those last few hundred meters could just as well have been miles away. “Please let me get there,” she whispered to herself.
