Opening the door
With one last look at the darkened street behind her, Kate approached the heavy metal doors. Her fingers touched the cold, rough surface of the door handles before pushing them downward. She closed her eyes briefly, reminding herself of why she was there. “I already got fired today; what do I have to lose,” she said to convince herself. Then the doors were opened.
