While clearing another table, Kate overheard the father quietly telling her that today was his son’s birthday. “He deserves something nice,” he said, glancing lovingly at his boy. Kate felt that remark in her heart. She knew life could be tough for some people, and everyone deserved a moment of happiness, especially on a birthday. As the meal came to an end, the family seemed reluctant to leave though.
