When they entered, Beth sat by the window, gazing at the garden. She looked frail and had cloudy eyes, but as soon as she saw Megan, her eyes lit up. Tears welled up as she whispered, “Megan, it’s really you.” Her voice was weak yet filled with joy and recognition as if a long-lost friend had returned.
