Back on the navy ship, the crew tracked the lifeboat on radar, keeping their distance as ordered so the animal would not get spooked. They gave Abara’s team a five-minute lead, watching from afar as the creature guided the small vessel through the open water. Whatever lay ahead, they all knew this was far from over.
