Shady people
Ben’s stomach churned as he watched the two men from their hiding spot. There was something undeniably shady about them—their tense body language, the way they avoided looking directly at each other. These weren’t people you’d want to meet in a dark alley, let alone stumble upon in an abandoned lot. Ben crouched lower behind the dumpster, his arm protectively shielding Cody. “Stay quiet,” he whispered. “We don’t want them to see us.”
