Blinding light
One by one, they scrambled out of the tunnel, the harsh sunlight blinding them momentarily. The last officer turned, aiming his flashlight into the darkness one final time before leaping out himself. The group collapsed onto the cracked riverbed, gasping for air at a reasonable distance from the tunnel’s exit.
