The collective shock was noticeable in the chapel. Ethan stepped forward, his voice raised. “What is this? What’s going on?” He said uncomfortably. “We can’t disclose that here,” the officer replied. “You’re welcome to come to the station later if you want to know more.” Ethan was beyond angry at this point. “This is absurd! She’s my wife—we were about to get married!” Julia’s lips tightened. “It’s okay,” she said softly, her voice barely audible over the chaos.
