Julia explained that Jason was her ex-boyfriend from years ago. “He was always jealous and unstable,” she said. “When I left him, I thought I was free, but he started stalking me not long after. It went on for years.” Her voice faltered as she continued. “It had been quiet lately, but everything escalated when he found out I was marrying you. He started calling, threatening us, saying he’d ruin our lives.”
