Chrissy’s face lit up. Emily and Kevin were assigned multiple short appointments with Chrissy before the adoption could be finalized. This was the policy of the orphanage, a way to actively get to know each other before spending the rest of their lives together. Chrissy even spent a full 24 hours with Kevin and Emily one time, which was an absolute joy for all three individuals. Kevin smiled, his heart swelling with pride. “You’re wonderful,” he said.
