Judy placed a gentle kiss on her daughter’s forehead. “I got something special for you,” Judy added, her smile widening. Sophia’s eyes widened in anticipation as Judy reached into one of the grocery bags. “Ta-da!” Judy said, pulling out a box of cookies. Sophia’s squeal of delight was loud enough to make Mrs. Anderson laugh from the kitchen.
