The hallway opened into a large space. Colin’s eyes widened. Monitors lined the walls, displaying live footage of nearby villages. Wires snaked across the floor, connecting various machines. The room was filled with people—men and women, dressed in ragged clothes, their faces lined with exhaustion. Some barely acknowledged the newcomers.
