Now that he was closer, he realized the nest was even larger than it had appeared from below. It was roughly the size of a large duffel bag, hanging awkwardly from the roof’s edge like some strange, oversized cocoon. The texture looked strange—rough and fibrous—completely different from the smooth, papery material he expected from a hornet nest. Its size and construction made it look like something you’d find deep in a jungle, not an attic.
