The officers waited, crouched and ready, watching as the bear’s movements slowed. Its breathing deepened, and after a few minutes, the giant animal collapsed gently onto its side. “Alright, it’s down,” the lead officer said, voice hushed but confident. They climbed up into the attic, flashlights scanning every corner. Once sure the bear was out cold, they wrapped a reinforced harness around its body and began preparing it for transport with quick, practiced hands.
