A Furry Nest?

Mark carefully cut open part of the structure. Inside were tufts of something unexpected—fur. Thin, curled strands tucked into the fibers like lining. John blinked. “Hornets don’t use fur,” he said quietly. “Not even close.” Mark nodded. “Exactly. And these strands—look here—they’re mixed with plant roots. This isn’t insect instinct. This looks like something a mammal would build.”
